Bottineau is the county seat for Bottineau County, North Dakota. It is a cluster of tree-lined streets and stores nestled around a railroad track. The surrounding landscape is a perfect grid of county roads and Great Plains flatness that extends to the horizon and beyond. Because of the vast array of recreational opportunities, it is known as the “Four Season’s Playground of North Dakota.” The city’s commercial district boast many small local shops. Bottineau is also home to the oldest county fair, the Bottineau County Fair in North Dakota. It is also home to Dakota College at Bottineau.
