Localism Week 2: Relative Price of Local Foods

We are a centristic people here in North Dakota, and why shouldn’t we be? We put hard work into anything we do, and we know the products we produce are of the highest quality. So, the question of the day, is why don’t we eat more local food?  Well, obviously it’s because it is more expensive!

…actually, conventionally raised food is about the same price at grocery stores and farmers markets (locally grown food). Organic food is cheaper than at the grocery store. Of course, in the land of a 6-month winter, we can’t always buy local, but it’s the little things that matter. Plus, some of our grocery stores have put in a “local” section, so you can support your local farmer and your local grocery store.
